Automatic transaction categorization is the process of assigning each bank operation to the right spending category — without manual tagging. In Poland, this is particularly challenging because transaction descriptions from Polish stores are messy: abbreviated names, terminal codes, branch addresses.
Standard AI models struggle to figure out that "JERONIMO MARTINS POLSKA S.A." is Biedronka and "ZABKA Z7432" is Żabka. According to NBP data (2024), Poles make an average of 45 card transactions per month — manually categorizing each one is a waste of time.

How does automatic store recognition work?
The parser analyzes transaction descriptions at sync time. It matches them against a database of known merchants, accounting for name variants, branch codes, and terminal formats. If there's a match — a category is assigned automatically.
