Why does credit card balance inflate your net worth?
Banks report credit card balance as available limit — not as debt. If you have a 10,000 PLN limit and spent 3,000 PLN, the bank shows 7,000 PLN. A finance app that doesn't correct this adds that 7,000 PLN to your assets. Result? Net worth goes up when it should go down.
Martia now automatically detects credit cards by bank product name and calculates actual debt: limit minus available funds. The result appears on the net worth chart as a separate red debt area — you see exactly how much you owe.
What changes on the chart?
The net worth chart now has two layers: the main line is the sum of your assets (bank balances, savings, other assets), and below it a red area showing credit card debt. If you don't have a credit card — nothing changes.
Account cards on the net worth page also show corrected balances. Instead of a misleading credit limit, you see actual debt with a minus sign. This works for all connected cards — mBank, Citi, Santander, and others. As of March 2026.

Martia analyzes the bank product name sent by GoCardless. If it contains words like "credit", "kredytowa", or "revolving" — the account is automatically flagged as a credit card.
For now, detection is automatic. If your card wasn't recognized, let us know — we'll add the name pattern.
